WELLINGTON, July 26. ' No wondor Ministers kill tihOTMekm The deputation ouree has got im worse than ever this session. For -Uie past few days the Premier's life must bave been a burden to him. On Monday the Hon. Mr Millar has to receive no fewer thatu nine deputotions. He will be kept going from 10 in- tihe tnoTOiirjg till 6 or 0 o'c-iock in the evening. Apparenitlly the Minister will have barely time to swallow his lunch. Undoubtedly the time of ALmasters is s-na-me-fully wasted, by rnoonaidera-te calilert. Most otf the requests ooufld be made jiwt as well, or even beWer, In wriittin-g, amd many of them could even be de-nit with by the heads of DopaTtbrnents. CHARITABLE AID. In 1899 the amount spent on obsritable aid waa £98,070. The following year it fell to £77,602. It has got gone up to £103,272. The amount* spent by the principal Boards last year were:—Auckland £17,001, WeUington, £14,228, Ashb-urtotn and North Oarmterbtsry £16,802, Otago United £16,898.
