Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable mot-sage from their London office, dated July 24th: —''Wool sale, closed, firm. For good greasy merino wools prices aro on the average ut par to id higher than closing rates of last series. For all other descriptions of greasy merino wool prices are at' par with closing rates of last series. For scoured gocd merino wools prices are par to id lower, for irregular scoured merino wools and inferior and faulty descriptions prices are par to 5 per cent, lower, for best greasy crossbreds prices aro unchanged, for scoured fine crassbred wools prices on tho average are 5 per cent, lower, for greasy medium and coarse crossbred wools prices are 5 to 8 per cent. lower, except for bright shafty combing wools suitable for America, for which prices aro on n par with closing rates of last series. For scoured medium and coarse crossbred wools and slipes prices are 10 per cent, lower than closing rates of last series. Total colonial wool available, including old stock IGS.OOO bales, out ef which some 84.000 bales havo been sold for home consumption, 55,000 bales for the Continent and 5000 for America, leaving 24,000 bales to bo carried forward to the next series." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received tho following cable message from their London house under date 24th inst.: — "Sales closed firmly this day. A3 compared with last sale's closing rates, prices aro about par to 5 per cent! lower for lambs, fino rrossbrrcl, greasy Merino inferior, 9eoured Merino super and about 7i per cent, to 10 per cent! lower for crossbred lambs, coarse scoured crossbred, faulty wool, coarse and medium crossbred slipe, and medium scoured crossbred. Greasy crossbred wool, medium and coarse, in faulty condition, sinoo closo of last sales prices aro lower by Id."
