' '; The Loan Dill, which was introduced X in the House to-day, provides for the : raising of £1,000,009 as foreshadowed ■ in tho Budget. Tho maximum inter- , cet to bo paid is 4$ per cent. The schedule of worke to which the monoy ie to be applied apportions to raiWay construction, or ! £75,000 lose than last year, when £450,000 was allocated to the same purpose. Thoro is an increase of £125,000 ne compared with list year for "addi- . tional rolling-stock for open lines and such other works and purposes in connection therewith as may be authorised," tho amount proposed to be allocated being £200,000. For rouus, tracks, end bridges, the amount specified is £350,000. as ' against £400,000 last year for similar purposes. On the gold fiolda the amount is £25,000, and £50,000 ie allocated in respect of telephone ex- . tension. The amounts for the two Uwt-named objects are the same as specified in last year's Loan Bill.
