MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
♦ Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., proridrd at the Magistrate's Court jwterday. John Bridgman was fined 40s and costs, and F. Bell 20s and costs for failing to leave licensed premises when requested to do so by thfc licensee. Archibald Liddell was fined 60s, in default one month's imprisonment for using obscene language, and 2Ce with the alternative of seven days for being drunk whilo in charge of a horse and cart. Wni. Sinclair Bonniiigton was sen teneed to seven days' imprisonment for disobedience of a maintenance order. Jaincs McOilivray, deemed to bo an idle and disorderly person, was convictod and discharged. Thomas Cox and C<x-il James Wates. two youths, were sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment, without hard labour, on a charge of stealing a portninnton.n and contents valued at- £8, the property of Robert Coulter. The Magistrate ordered they should bo kept- apart from other prisoners. H<i:tv Cox find C. J.
