THE AMERICAN FLEET,
(Received July 7th, 4.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 6. Washington advices admit that a fleet of sixteen battleships, under Admiral Evans, sails for the Pacific via Cape Horn early in tho autumn. President Roosevelt states that the et«p has been contemplated for two years, and does not relate to the trouble which has arisen with Japan. It is intended to promote drill and solve coaling problems.
