* A small-bore target rifle match was fired at Leeston on Friday between a team from the Ellemnere Mounted Rifles and a team of civilians, the latter being victorious by sir poiuts. Corporal Hammond. E.M.R., was the only competitor to Eecure a possible. The conditions were—Nine men aside, and seven shots each. The ecores were: Civiliace 276, Ellesmcre Mounted Rifles 270.
