(Received May 23rd, 12.45 a.m.) ' PARIS May 22. The newly elected French Chamber contains 246 Radicals t and Socialist Radicals, 77 Republicans of the Left, seven Dissident Radicals, 22 Independent Socialists, 63 United Socialists, 64 Progressive Royalists, Bonapartj'sts, "Members of Action/ Liberals, and Na-' tionalisbs. The Government possesses a sufficient Republican inayority to dispense with the support of *he United Socialists. The principal significance of the elections is th§ nation'sjratiflcation of the Church and State separation law. The Chamber' meets on June Ist. [At the last election the strength of the various groups was as follows:— 111 Government Republicans, 99 progressist Republicans, 129 Radical Republicans, 90 Socialist Radicals, 59 Nationalists. 50 Conservatives (anti-Repub-licans), 43 Socialists and Guesdist Socialists.]
