Tho annual meeting of tho parish* ionei* of.St. John's Church, LeaAewu was held on Wednesday evening. The vicur, tho Rev. W. H. Ortell, presided, and thero was a fair attendance. In his report tho vicar stated that thera had been an increase of 620 in.the eovr gregation, and 106 in communions. A' Sanctuary Guild "had been formed to take > charge of the altar and linen. Tho choir was still in the hands of Mr J. W. Hammond and wa-s doing good work, assisted by the St. John* orchestr*. Under the superin.tendencc of Mm» Emms the Sunday school was still going ahead, and he hoped to bo ablo to d»strituto the prizes ehottly. Tlie parifihionen,' warden CMr W. H. L-ockwood) presented tho balance-t-heet, which snored a credit balance on 31st of March of £1 &s 3d. There were then liabditi-M icf £25 0« 2d. Thoso had now beea wiped off. leaving a credit balance « ■ about £11 at the bank. It wm resolved | to allow no overdraft at tho baiUt ! without the consent of the congregation* * The following were appointed for tfie ■ ensuing year:—Bishop's warden, Mr £ ' Blackler; parishioners' warden, Ml' «• ' H.
