ROAD BOARDS.
SPRINGS. At the annual meeting of ratepayers' of tho iSprings Road District, Mr Wolfe, chairman of tlie Board, presided. Tbe clerk read the annual report, certified bal-ance-sheet, and statement of aooounit— iho receipts, including £267 17s lOd, balance from the previous year, amounted to £2208 10s 2d, the expenditure being £1624 6s 6d, made up as follows:—Heads £501 lfis 3d, rivers and drains £317 12s Bd, bridges and culverts £92 3s 3d, sal-aj-icis, printing ami ofiieo expenses £179 3g Gd, small birdw' rate £111 7s -Id, hospital and. cha.rita.ble aid £242 2.s lOd, road board r-o-erves and buildingjs £8475 2s, mtscellanoons expenf.es £17 5s Gd, account Waimakariri River Beard £15. Tho credit balance was £584 Sis Bd. Mr F. Andrews moved a hearty vote of thanks to tho Board for their -gratuitous scrvictw. The motion was seconded by Mr Kinn and carried.
