AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 5. At the meeting of the Wellington Centre of the Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association* to consider the question cf reciprocity between amateur and professional bodies, a resolution was pa«s.d to the effect that tlie Centre was unablo to entertain any suggestion which would lead to the association of amateur with professional sport. It was also resolved to reooinmend the Council of tho New Zealand Amateur Association to appoint a repressntative well versed in amateur sport to tour the colony with a view to placing amateurism on a proper basis, and that various Centres be asked to contribute towards the expenses of an organiser. It was decided to apply for permission to hold the Wellington Centre Championship Meeting oa New Year's Day.
