On enquiry at tho office of Messrs Morrow, Bassott and Co. yesterday, it was ascertained that a cable message had been received in th© morning from Mr T. 0. Bafsetit, from Chicago, stating that he and his family were in that city.

No word has l>e©n received from Mr Joseph Gould, who, with Mra Gould, went to San Francisco hy the Sonoma. He, however, stated before leaving that ho intended to proceed straight from San Francisco to Victoria (British Columbia).
