RAKAIA.

The Rakaia Road Board met on April 9th. Present—Messrs R. Nowell toealey (chairman), K. \»ilson, G. Hall, and Jas. Johnston. The chairman re« ported the acceptance of the tender of J. Hart for re-planking a portion of Ooalgate bridge for the sum of £&L 10a. Approved. Mr L. Adams applied for a contribution towards the cost of repairing Selwyn Gorge road, leading to hie lime kiln. Decision deferred. It was decided that the next ordinary meeting of the Board would be held on Saturday, May sth, at 10 a.m., and the annual meeting of ratepayers at 1 p.m. on the same day. Accounts •mounting to £305 were passed for pay-, raent.
