Mr Ross, an amateur astronomer, reports the discovery of a supposed new comet in the Constellation of Sculptor. WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY IN AUSTRALIA. The Marconi Company has started work on an experimental station for wireless telegraphy. THE JAPANESE FAMINE. The State Government has given fifty tons of flour for Japanese famine relief. Mr Deakin has offered his assistance to the Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to relieve the distress in Japan. HURRICANE IN QUEENSLAND. (Received March 6th, 1 a.m.) BRISBANE, March 5. A hurricane at Oroydon damaged the majority of the buildings in the town. Many were wrecked, these' including the Roman Catholic Church and Salvation Army Barracks. The Anglican Church was brown over. Thero was torrential rain, and the telegraph service is interrupted.
