A SERIOUS COLLISION.
MOTOR CYCLE AND TRAM. A somewhat serious accident occurred in Montreal street South yesterday morn- ! ing, a motor cycle with side carriago at- ! tach-pd, coining into violent collision with tho Addington steam tram. The motor cycle was ridden and driven by a Mr C. E. St. John, of Koiapoi, and Miss ■L. Turnbull, of Sydenhajn, waa tho ocoupant of tlie aide carriage. The motor cycle was speeding north at a fast rate, and reached tho Moorhouse avenue intersection just as the Addington tram j crossetl Montreal street. Tho motor i cycle and sido carriago da.shed into the ' engine, wind, with the occupants, "were dragged somo ten yards along the track until the tram could be stopped. Mr St. John and Miss Turnbull were- picked up practically unconscious, and ib was found that tlhey had both received severe cuts and bruises, Miss Turnbull, in addition, having broken her leg. Tho two were, immediately taken to the hospital. On enquiries being made last night, it was found tltat Mr jSt. Jolin had reoaiined consciousness, and that Miss Turnbull was in great pain.
