SECOND GRADE MATCHES.

Sydenham, who had scored 109 for r.me wickets against Riccarton's 171, resumed hatting, and the venture realised 129. Ricoarton in their second innings made 188 (Sheriffs 71, Rhodes 36, Sinclair 21, Francis 17, Ballantyne 10, Oox 10). bydenham had lost five wickets for 127 when time was called (Gasson 59 not out, Patterson 27, Wintson 18 not out). Rhodes was tho most successful bowler. Riccarton won by 42 runs on the first innings. West Christchurch won their match against Christ's College by 86 runs. West Christchurch in their first innings had made 116, College replying with 84. On Saturday West Ohnstclmrch in their second innings put up 216 (Bean 42, Monteith 82, Kayj niond 70), College responding with 102 1 (Saundere 10, Bruges 42, Daviton 12, Baker 25, Chrystall 15, Parkinson 11, White 32.) Thodey bowled well for the winners, end White and Baker for the losers. Tho match between the High Scnool and St. Albans was brought to a conclusion at Hagley Park, when the rormer won by 41 runs on the first innings. Scores:—St. Albans 153 and 145 for five wickets (Taylor 36, J. Homer 19. Pritchard 19, Davey 13, and G. i Homer 13 not out); High School a<J4 (Crawshaw 45, Chamberlain 40, Carter ■ 37. Sinclair 15, McKay 11 not out. and Ollivier 10). McLeod again bowled well for the winners, and Carke and Pritchaxd trundled best for the losers. The match between Linwood.and Eaet Christchurch resulted in an easy win ror the former by an innings and 34 runs. Scores:—Linwood 372; East Christchurch 162 (Ward 50, Brooke 31, Redpath 15, Toomer 15, and Maroney 12) end 176 (Young 58, O'Callaghan 41, Price 30, and Ward 15). Bolton and Atkinson bowled well for the winners.
