RICCARTON v ST. ALBANS.
Tho match between these teams was brought to a conclusion at Hagley Fark on Saturday, when Ricoarton won easily by en innings and 102 runs. On the first day of the match St. Albans bad completed their first innings for 61, while Rieearton had ecored 246 for tne loss of five wickets, Fryer being 57 not out, and Bain 30 not out, Fryer was absent at the start of Saturdays play, and K. S. Willie mc accompanied Bain to the wickets. As on the first day, runs came freely, and the total was taken to 325 before Williams was mis«d for a hard hit 48, which included eight 4's. E. Caygill t&en went in, but with the total at 336 for six wiokets the innings was declared closed. Rain carried out 'his bat for a well played 65. -St. Albans's fielding end

St. Albans, in a minority of '27q, started their second innings, end-the only thing they had to play tor iv.as to save an I innrngp defeat, and thus have only 2 points scored against them, instead of A for an outright -win. OHivicr and Weston played pluckily to avert this, and later in the innings Banritt hit freely, but Ricoarton were not to be denied, and in the end they won as above stated with plents ox time in hand.
