The Rev. Dr. Watson, the American evangelist, will be accorded a reception by Christian workers at the Baptist Schoolroom, Oxford terrace, this evening, and commences a fortnight's mission at the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church on Sunday next. A general meeting of licensed victuallers will be h©id to-morrow, at 3 p.m.., in tho new rooms Manchester street. The "At Home" of the Roman Catholic Cathedral choir will take plaoe this evening at the Alexandra Hall. The annual tea and public meeting of th© Christchurch Methodist Mission will be held this evening. Exhibitors are reminded that entries for tho Metropolitan Show of the Christchurch Poultry Club will close at the club rooms, Cathedral square, tonight, at ten o'clock. Th© Rev. L. M. Isitt will giv© an address in the Canterbury Hall on Monday next. Short speeches of welcome will be given by various representative speakers. Mr C. Lewis, M.H.R., will speak at the Hornby Hall to-night. Mr G. Laurenson, M.H.R., will address his constituents at the Schoolroom, Selwyn street South, and Mr W. W. Tanner, M.H.R., will speak at th© Philipstown School to-morrow, at 8 p.m.
