CHILDREN'S AID FANCY FAIR

i ♦ I Tho final committee meeting in connection with the fancy fair to be held in the Canterbury Hall on the 25th, 26th, and 27th, was held at Mrs Wm. Reece'* on Monday last. The attendance was exceptionally large, each stallholder being present, or rep.esented. Very numerous offers of gratuitous assistance, musical, furnishing, floral decorating, and goods for stalls, were reported. Stallholders anticipate severe tax on space, judging from the amount of items procured. Stall assistants will require every moment of the two afternoons and three evenings the fair is open, wherein to dispose of the many goods. Mrs Reeoo reported that a noteworthy incident was a contribution of sweets to the value of £3 10s, made by ths children of the East Christchurch school. The list of stallholders was revised, and finally —ranged as follows :—Variety stall: Mrs Secretan, Mrs Stringer, Mr* Steveley, Mrs Bates, Mrs R. Anderson, and the Misses Wilson. Flower stall: Mrs Arthur E. G. Rhodes. Crinkled paper stall: Mrs H. F. Wigram, Mrs Boyl*, and Miss Hill. Plain and fancy sewing stall: Mrs Geo. Jameson, Mrs Fulton, Mrs Matson, Mrs Recce, and Miss Barber. Produoe stall: Mrs George Rhodes, Miss Tabart, Miss Stead, and Miss Cotterill. Sweet stall: Mrs Ch_i. Louisson, and Mrs Croxton. Tea Btall: Mrs Denniston, Mrs C. M. Anderson, Mrs Appleby, Mrs M. Campbell, and Mrs C. Clarke. Fish pond: Mrs A. J. Clowes, and Miss Twentyman. Ice cream and fruit salad: Misses Pr_a (2), Miss Elmslie, Miss Bloxam, Miss Reeoe, and Miss Hay. Cake stall: Ladies of O.A.S. oommittee. Christmas tree: Mrs J. 0. Yalmer, Miss Molineaux. Parcels' office: Miss Thompson and Miss Newton.
