(nOX OUB OWN COaaESPOND-NT.) LONDON, January 21. Mr P. A. Vaile's book "Great Lawn Tennis Players," which he has written in collaboration with Mr G. W. Beldam, the famous Middlesex cricketer and ac-tion-photographer, was published by Messrs Macmillan and Co. on Friday. Lawn tennis players have awaited the book with much interest, for Mr Beldam's fame as an action-photographer is widespread, while Mr Vaile's position as the authority on the game is acknowledged. There are 239 very fine illustrations, and the publishers declare that the book is quite unique in the history of the game. Miss Agnes M. Duncan, Christchurch, tells mc that she has for several.months past been studying singing and voice S reduction under the Behnke system. he intends starting next week on her return voyage to New travelling direct by tho Tongariro. The death ooourrea in London recently of Mr Duncan McLaren, who at one time lived at Storecroft, Timaru, New Zealand. ' During the last six t-onths Dr. Falooner has held the appointment of' Senior Resident Medical Officer at the West London Hospital— an important position, as to this hosSital is attached the Post-Graduate Meical College in London. This is tho third hospital at which' Dr. Falconer has held resident appointments during his two and a half year's stay in London. He has held the appointments of House Physician in the departments of general medicine, skin, throat, and ear, and infectious diseases. He is the possessor of the London Diploma of Public Health. After six months' work in Dublin in tho Coombe and Richmond Hospitals, Miss Winifrede I. Bathgate, M.8.. has come to London to walk the hospitals. At the present time she is pursuinp Ber medical studies 'at the New Hospital for Women and at the Polyclinic Medical Graduates College. .
