A POLISH PLOT.
RINGLEADERS HANGED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received April 25th, 11.15 p.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, April 25. Eighteen Polish Separatists wero tried and hanged at Warsaw for an attempt to organise a revolt. Many Polish workmen in St. Petersburg have been arrested in connection with the plot. [The Russian province of Poland includes ten provinces with a population of about ten millions for an area of something under 50,000 square miles. The country had a separate constitution from 1815-30 and a separate government from 1830-64, but in the latter year it was deprived of its administrative independence, and in 1800 it was incorporated as an integral part of Russia, trial by jury was abolished, and ths ofti-al use of the Polish language was prohibited. Tlie majority. of tne inhabitants are Roman Catholics. There ore two main parties, Nationalists and Socialists. Both are equally opposed to the Russian Government.]
