I ■» — I A public missionary meeting in connection with the Christian Endeavour Union will take place to-night in the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church. The speakers will be Rev. R. S. Gray and Mr Joseph Lue, Chinese missionary. A general meeting of dairymen will be held to-morrow night at 7.30, at the Zetland Hotel. Tlie Malvern Winter Show will be held at Annat on Thursday. There are good entries of stock, produce, and agricultural entries. The entries for tlie Chrysanthemum and Fruit Show, to be held on May 4th and sth, under the auspices of the United Horticultural Society, will close at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, May 2nd. The schedule of prizes for the coming Winter Show of the Otago A. and P. Society, which takes place on June fst, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, has been issued. The Union Steam Ship Company has given a cup, valued at twenty-five guineas, to replace the McNairn challenge cup for cheese, and the Wyndham Dairy Factory Company give a trophy, valued at £25, lor the best two boxes of factory butter for export. Tlie directors of the Canterbury Caledonian Society have arranged for the opening of the weekly social gatherings on May 4th, when a concert will "be given in the rooms. The programme for tlie opening night is a very good one. Miss A. Campbell invites ladies to a free, I common-sense health talk in Trinity Hah\ Manchester street, on Wednesday afternoon, at 3 p.m.
