CHURCH UNION.
(tress association telegram.) STRATFORD, April 22. At a meeting of the Taranaki Presbytery yesterday, it was resolved, by 8 to 4, on the "motion of tlie Rev. Hutson, "That this meeting, while desirous of cherishing friendly feeling toward the Evangelical Churches, does not think further proceedings for the union of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational Church are in the best interest of the cause of Christ, and recommends the termination of the movement, but that steps be taken to secure a conference, re the alleged over-lapping of Evangelical Churches."
