ASHBURTON.
Our Ashburton correspondent writes: — Wheat—Prices have about reached bedrock, and already some little sign of recovery has taken place. There has been very keen demand for any good lines of Velvet, while prime Tuscan has also met with a better sale. Hunter's still continue to drag oa the market, but there has been a better feeling, and an inclination on the part of millers and shippers alike to purchase. During the week sales have been made at 2s 10d for Pearl, 2s 9d Tuscan, and 2s 8d to 2s B*d for Hunter's, which are to-day's quotations. Oats—There is good demand for all classes of oats at present rates. Short feed und prime lines of Duns are being more especially enquired for, While good feed Danish meet with a ready sale at quoted rates. The quantity on "the market is not large, and it. would take a very little to entirely deplete the stocks at present available. Quotations remain finn at: Canadians Is 5d to Is sid, short feed Is 4id, Duns Is 4d to Is 4id, Danish Iβ 3d.
