AN ILLEGAL GAME.

Dr. tXleArthur, S.M., to-day held that two up was a game of chance, pure and simple, and recorded a conviction and a penalty of £3 in one of several ca>.ee, tho others being deferred to allow of an appeal. Ur. McArtliur raid it seemed to him that the presence of the kip and pennies ac a means or instrument, and the fact that these present in turn handled the kip and pennies, thus taking an active part in the proceedings, and the presence of a. ring-keeper, who conducted the business and gave the order to toss, all proved that the performance was a, game of chance, and not merely a wager. It was a poor game, probably, but still a game, and he considered there must be a conviction.
