The second aeriee of matches in the Associated Corps' Shield Competitions opened" on Thunsday -feet with 4h* Thursday -bieh. Gpeeml Match. In this the Engineers —ere again victorious, increasing their lead by 88 pointa. In the Saturday Senior Competition the Canterbury Engineers (were victorious, besitkrf ib* Linwood Rifles, who bad previously held-the lead,' and establishing a'lewd of * points. «n the aggregate. The weather, which —aa boisterous, did noi appear to affect the shooting. The marking, which ia «o necessary a feature in ail ride matches, waa decidedly weak,'there being about a hundred challenge* during the match, of wbioh not more •than * third -We— Btrntained. This 'delayed the shooting considerably, and in coiiMquence ithe teams were sot able to leave Redcliffs till nearly half-past aeven. In the Junior Competition the Imperials were again wucceMfid, and have now established a firm lead. Captains Drayton a—d Batchelor snd Lieutenant Steexa fulfilled the arduous duties of range officers, duties made much more difficult >by reason of (the indifferent tmAing.
