The State Treasurer characterised the "Daily Mail's" correspondent's statement in reference .to the criticism on the undidosed rato of interest as a falsehood. His eeoond statement, touching the flotation of loan*, was a gross exaggeration. He informed the Assembly that of the £11,798,000 which the Government had bean authorised to borrow, £8,952,000 had been borrowed, and it was anticipated that the balance would fee required to meet the. loan appropriations, which wore due last month.
