HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD ELECTIONS.
The annual elections by the local bodies of members of the Charitable Aid and HospitoJ.Boards took place yesterday. At the meeting of the Selwyn County Council Messrs Dunlop, McHafne, McMillan and Wolfe were re-elected as representatives of the Council on the Hospital Board. For the Charitable Aid Board Airs Black, Meagre Board, Wolfe and Gough were re-elected. For the Trustee of the Samaritan Home Mr Wolfe proponed Mrs Black. Mr McHaffie seconded .the motion, which was agreed to, and M» Black was declared elected. .'•:.-.
At the meeting of representative* of the grouped boroughs,' hejd : in the Provincial Council Chambers yesterday, Messrs Neate and Carey (Chrietchurch City Cottncilj, Webb and Kay (Lyttelton Borough Council), Carmichael (Rangiora), and J. Daly (Kalapoi), were present. On tie motion of 'Mr S. B. Webb, seconded by Mr W. J. Neate, Mr E. Feldwick was appointed a member of tho Hospital Board. For the neat on the Charitable Aid Board, Mr* McCoomb was nominated by Messrs Neat© and Carey, end Mr W. Ratdiffe by Messrs Kay and Daly. Mr Ratcliffe was duly: elected. At a meeting of representatives of New, Brighton, Woolston and the City, 4hwe were present Me«#rs Winny (Mayor of New Brighton). Pearce and Otley (City of Christchurch), Richardson (Mayor of Woolston), and (Cr. Hayes. Mr Pcarce nominated Mrs Jes*ie Henderson as a member of. the Charitable Aid Board. The Mayor of Woolston. nominated Cγ. Hayes. Mrs. Henderson was elected by 4 votos to 3". For the Hospital Board, * the Mayor of Woolston nominated Mrs Hendersrm, and Mr Otley nominated the Mayor of New Brighton, who wae elected by 4 to 3. At a special meeting of the City Council, presnded over by the Mayor (Hon. H. F. Wigrarn), last night, the following representatives were elected: —For tie Charitable Aid Board: Cre. W. H. Cooper, B. P. Manhire. and G. W. J. Patrons. For the Hospital Board: Crs. G. IJayling, H. H.-~ Loughnan, and J. Forrester. Trustee for the Samaritan Home: Cr. Soreii>en. A vote of thanks wan accorded to Cr. Sorensen r.nd Mr J. T. Smith, the retiring reprej?entatfr«e of the Council on t\w CnaritaWe Aid Board. A vote of thanks was ako passed to Messrs W. Jacques and T. H. Davey, tbe retiring representatives, on the Hospital Board. Messrs C. 3. -Harper and H. Friedlander were yesterday re-elected as the Asbbarton TvpresentaUves on tb# North Canterbury Charitable Aid Board, tie delegates attending the election being -Messrs Harper, representing tie county, and H. Davis, the Borough of Afhburton. Mr Davis," on behalf of. .the borough, opposed the election of two lepreaentatiTee of the county, but an he only exercises one vote, and Mr Harper three, be was powerless to effect a change. Aβ representatives of Akaroa borough and county, Mr J. Haroalton has been elected to the Hospital Board, and Mr S. Harris (Little River) to the Charitable Aid Board
