RAILWAY FATALITY AT TIMARU. As the North express started from Timaru at about lntlf-past four yesterday afternoon, a newspaper runner named Howard attempted to cross in front of the engine. He was knocked down and run over by the train, death being instantaneous. The man s body was dreadfully mangled by the accident. As far as can be ascertained, the deceased was crossing from the east side of the railway lines to the platform when the fatality occurred. Ho was a man of about forty years of age.
