PRECAUTIONS BY AUTHORITIES.

In conneution with the alleged outbreak of plague in Marseilles, which was last week reported to have been'responsible for seven deaths, thy Consuls there have notified the Prefecture that they are unable to deliver to vessels clean bills’ of health. The authorities only admit the existence of suspicious cases of infectious pneumonia, but they tire nevertheless organising a crusade against rats.
