THE AUSTRALIAN GAME.
The New Zealand Association of Australian Football opened their season on Saturday at Woolston, where the Imperials met the Wanderers. There was a fair attendance. Tlie exhibition of the game was fairly good, considering the high wind and the number of novices playing. The game resulted in a win for the Imperials by 46 points (5 goals 16 behinds) to 21 points (2 goals 9 behinds). The most conspicuous players on either side were:- For Imperials, Porter, Edwards, C. Longstaff, and for the losing team, Ockelshaw, Wadham, Tntlow, Bushby, Wadham and Jones. Porter kicked all the goals for the Imperials. Tatlow and Hawkins for the Wanderers. Mr J. Hopkins was control umpire, and Messrs Winnett and Philips umpired between the goals
