ASHBURTON.
There wae not much interest taken in the Aehburton Borough Council election yesterday. Mr Henry Davis, eencor Councillor, was elected as Mayor unopposed. There were thirteen candidates for nine seats on the Council, and the polling resulted as follows: —D. Thomas 359, Hugo Friedlander 334, J. Daviuon 317, C. Reid 257, J. Wilson 253, A. Whitaker 240, R. Clark 197, J.. G. Wallace 196, J. W. Tiromicß 196, G." W. Andrews 188, J. Thomae 175, J. T. M. Prieet 158, H. A. Mackev 154.
