OXFORD.
The Orfovd Road Board was attended by Messrs A. Wright (chairman), J. Orofes, A. Stubbs, and D. Thompson. The surveyor stated that tho contractor had commenced work on the Ashley Gorge bridge contract, and that the ironbark was expected the following week. Five tenders were received for the Eyre bridge extension, that of Mewsre Lucas Bros., Christchurch, for £833 being accepted. Mr J. Morris was appointed clerk of works for the Ashlev Gorge bridge, and Mr Robert Henry for the l-yre bridge. It was resolved that tenders be invite a for 500 or 600 yards of boulders for the main road.
