ST. MICHAEL'S DAY SCHOOL.
There wit « crowded attendance at the annual prize distribution in St. Mkheel's ichool on Thursday last. The vicar presided, and presented the prizes. The firat part of the programme consisted of songs, recitations, drill, etc., and "Bluebeard" by the children, and went off very successfully. The vicar reported an increase in the numbers attending the school, an examination by Mr T. S. Foster, * Scripture examination, by the Eey. J. A. Julius, and a needlework examination by Mrs Hankes. He congratulated the teachers. Miss K. V. Kivor and Miss L. Hare, on their year's successful work. The children presented a musical box to tb* vicar for the children at the Hospital. The following is the prize list:— Standard Vl.—Bessie Hew (class marks «nd Scripture). Lena Denoon (sewing and Scripture], Kathleen Potter (composition. Standard IV.—Kitty Fdx~ (class marks), Bdith Matthews (sewing), Alas Barker (attendance). Amy Rae (Scripture). -Standard lll.—Ena Clark (class marks and sewing), * Mona Eggleston (Scripture), Ruth IDe Maus (attendance and Scripture), Tennyson Bse (physical drill). Standard ll.—Orma De Maus (first class marks and attendance). Hilton Movie (second vises marks), Myrtle Banger (writing), Harvey Clsrkson (drawing), Bertha Ereleston (spelling). Mabel Teague (Scripture), Ines : White (sewing). Standard L—Alan Campbell (first class marks). Polly Grey (second class marks) Ivy Painter (sewing and Scripture), Jean De Maus (attendance). Myr» Hutchinaon (Scripture), Roy Painter (improvement), Euby Alston (class marks), Elsie Rne (conduct), Eva Ranger (olass marks), Morris Smithsoa (class marks).
