CULVERDEN SHEEP SALE.
Yesterday, in spite of threatening weather, there was a large attendance of those interested in j?heep-breeddng and the freezing trade at the Amuri Saleyards, Ciilverden. The entry of stock was —~j store sheep, 1650 fat and freezing sheep, and 640 fat lambs, for which there v>?. a ii brisk demand, and advancing prices were realised. The six and eight-tooth wethers of Culverden, which at the last sale sold at 14s to 16s, brought 20s, the Highfield' fat wethers brought 19s, ewes 17s 7d. the Achray fat lambs realised 14s 9d, and four-tooth wethers 19s. Culverden ewes went up to 17s 6d, and St. Leonards wethers to 17s 3d. All through prices were well maintained. No such sales hay« betn made for soms time. Last year four»tooth wethers reached 13s 4d, and this year 19s. C. Webb, 692 two-tooth webhetrs 10s Bd. Messrs W. H. Pyne and Co. sold, account, of clients, Kaikoura, etc., .631 four-t'-odi wc:hers 17s Bi, -104 € wes 12s Bd, 867 lamb 3 7s; account of Culvtrden Estate, 132 s.x «nd eiglu-tooth wethers 20s, 137 ewes 17fl 6d; account of Clarence client, 127 e-.ves 12 S lit. 100 two to four-tooth wethers and maiden ewes 13s,' 934 twotooth wtthers ar.d ewes 12s 3d. Mr F. U.
