NATIONAL BANK OF NEW ZEALAND The National Bank of New Zealand has declared an interim dividend of 10 per cent. FOUNDERING OF A COAL STEAMER. The steameT Marlay, coal ladeo, foundered in Dublin Bay in a storm, and fourteen were drowned. The sole survivors were rescued in a boat which was swept from the ship. FRENCH MARITIME STRIKE ENDED. PARIS, December 17. The members of the Seamen's Union at Marseilles have resumed work. EARTHQUAKE IN TURKESTANST. PETERSBURG, December 17. A severe earthquake, lasting three minutes, occurred in Russian Turkestan. Much of the railway was destroyed, and numerous deaths were occasioned. THE RUSSIAN SCANDAL. M. Timiraseff, the oommeircial agent* of Russia at Berlin, has been appointed assistant to M. de Witte, the Russian Minister of Finance, in suoceesion to M. Dovalesjd, -who was compelled to owing to a Jiaison with an actress. It now transpires that the actress forged Dovaleeki's name to bills amounting to 300,000 roubles.
