CABLE NEWS. I
A FAREWELL BANQUET. United Prose Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 27th, 1.35 a.m.) LONDON, November 26. The Colonial Club gave a banquet to Admiral Fanshawe, iprior to his departure for Australia. There were a hundred present. Sir John Cockburn said the Paciflo would become an international prize-ring in the future. Australians supported the Imperial Naw, but desired some voice in the matter of a local line of sea defence. Sir Horace Tozer hoped Admiral Fanshawe would continue the survey of the northern coasts of Australia. Admiral Fanshawe said he was delighted to go among the citizens who had stood shoulder to shoulder with the Army in South Africa. When the maritime sentiment pervaded the Empire, our defence would be on a sound basis.
