SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FINANCES. ADELAIDE, August 8. The revised statement of finances shows that, the past year, ended June,-showed a deficit of £220,000, to which is added the debit balance of £170,000 from the previous year. The Government intends to issue Treasury Bills to cover the deficit. RESTRICTION OF CATTLE EXPORTATION. PERTH, August 8. The Government intends to restrict the export of cattle te South Africa, as beef is required locally. WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, August 8. The Women's Franchise Bill has been restored to the Council's Order Paper for Wednesday, when the question of taking a referendum of women will be further considered. THE MISSING QUHUING. The National Shipwreck Relief Sooiety has voted temporary relief to the families of the crew of the Quiraing. THE SHEARING DISPUTE. (Received August 9th, 1.7 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 8. The Premier is using his inAence to avert a shearing strike. He is trying to arrange for another conference between the pastor-lists and -hearers, and there are good prospects of his efforts being successful.
