Jjt AUCKLAND, September 30. , W Among the passenger* by tlie Sonoma was 'Mr Loud, Chairman of the.Postal'Committee of the United States Souse of Representa,-. tives. He oonfeired here with Mr Witheford re the mail service and reciprocity. Mr Loud expressed the opinion that a reciprocal tariff might be arranged with t<his colony to include such goods as wool, flax, and certain agricultural products. At the present time there were several similar treaties awaiting the consideration of the Congress. He suggested the Government should send a delegate to Washington during the next sitting of the Congress. He promised to do all he could to farther a mutually advantageous arrangement, his visit to Australia having greatly impressed him with the trade possibilties of these colonies.
