SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
At Wednesday s meeting of the Richmond School Committee, it was decided to insure the piano end school library. The Works Committee reported the grounds and school premises in good order, and it had instructed the caretaker to plant trees aroond the school grounds. The Education Board ■wrote, stating it had forwarded medals for presentation to each scholar to commemorate the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. Accounts amount to £8 10s 5d were passed. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 585, but owing to the bad weather the attendance Bad fallen off considerably during the past week. On Thursday last the attendance wi»a less than half tihe roll number, the first tima for twenty years. It was resolved to ask the Qty Council to lay asphalt crossings in front of the school gates, owing to the wretched state of the Stanmore road.
