TIMARU.
A fair amount of madness has been done in the Timaru groin and produce markets, and p?lc«s ruling last week have been easily maintained..-A slight advance in the price of potatoes has again taken place. Oats ar« worth Is 6d per bushel, country stations, sacks extra. This is art all round quotation, and prime samples of Canadians are worth Is 7d to Iβ Btl. There uxe plenty of buyers for oats just now, but growers ;are holding for a bett«r market in a. good many cases. Wheat is firm at 2s per bushel for velvet and red chaff, while the better samples of Tuscan can be readily sold at from 2s 4d to 2s s£d per bushel, according to -sample. Malting barky can be sold at 2s to 3s 3Jcli per bushel; feed barley at Is. 3d to Is 6d; and Cape barley, is worth ls'9d to 2s. A gocd many of the samples of grain now coming to hand have been touched! by the weather, and consequently values vary a good deal, according to sample. Since last week,-potatoes have increased in value to the-extent-of 7s 6d per ton, but stUl farmers are pitting, and business is not very .brisk. There are jplenty of buyere now, but growers are holding for a better price. Good Derwents are worth £4 5s to £4 10s per ton to-day.;
