PRESENTATION TO HON. MR CARROLL.
(S*b*<*__, TO *'TH_ PBSSS,") DUNEDIN, July 1. The "Star's" Wellington special telegraphs:—"Tha HcTjia Carroll's, present from the Duke of York was a band'some watch, on a stand, together with a medallion portrait of the ducal pair. The gift is to be handed over to a native chief at. Gisborne in trust for 'Mr Carroll's wife. The Duke before leaving preysrd the Hon. Mr Carroll to visit England a__ to bring Mrs Carroll along with him. His Highness also intimated that in that event he would expect the Native Minister and Mrs Carroll to become his guests."
