It;has been remarked that their Royal Highnesses wero .perfect mascottes so far as the weabher was concerned. At Auckland, Rotoraa, and Wellington *hero .was a. bright change on [ their arrival kb those places,' though it did ! not always last, and, true it is that their \ advent in Christohurch dispersed the gloom ajid clouds and , rain. It was a very bright seen© as the Royal pair took their seats is their carriage with Lord Wenlock, the pretty ' decorations of' the railway station forming a strik.ng ba<skground to the picture. The Nelson and Blenheim Garrison Bands; amalgamated for the occasion, played the National Anthem as the Duke and Duchess advanced <to their carriage, and as the procession began its march through the city the cheering wae sustained, and followed their Royal Highnesses in one continuous roll.
