THE CATHEDRAL SERVICE.
TO THB EDITOR Ol* TRUTH.
Sir, —Will you kinuly give mc spacs to air, what I think, is a public scandal. I should very much like to know on what principle that august body, the Cathedral Chapter, has allocated half the seats in the Cathedral.for the service on Sunday morning. In ignoring the claims of layreaders and wardens to a few of the seats, the authorities have, in my ODinion, made an egreggious blunder. These are the men who do the work of the Church. Layreaders take from four services to one service a month, while the, work of a warden is never done; and the thanks these officers get is that they are simply ignored when any function of an important character is performed within Church circles. On those occasions tnose in high authority only know men of wealth and position.—l am, etc.,
LAYREADER
