•DUNEDIN, June 7.
The offer of increased pay to men attending the Royal review at Christchurch has been submitted to thb Volunteers, with, the result that only 165 names have been received from rifle battalions, Or five more than previously offered. Of these, over 40 are recruits. As only one company offered, with a minimum strength of 40, and that company has not yet received belts, none of the infantry companies will go to OhristchurchV Most of the men say they absolutely cannot afford the tjme.
