LYTTELTON'S ROYAL SALUTE.

The firing of the salutes at Lyttelton in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will be under the superintendence of Captain Mclntyre, of the N Battery. One Will be fired on June 11th, as soon as the arrival of the Royal party at Auckland is advised by telegraph; another on June 22nd, when the Ophir enters the Lyttelton Heads, and a third when the Ophir leaves Lyttelton about June 27th. All the guns in the batteries are to be used. The.first and the last gun of 'each salute is to be fired from the uppar gun at Battery Point, on the Sumner road, and the others in rotation from the lSwer gun at Battery Point, Spur Point, Erskine Point, and Fort Jervois. The guns are to be fired at ten seconds intervals.
