' LINWOOD. A special meting of the Linwood Borough Council was held last night. The Mayor presided, and the Councillors took the usual declaration. The Mayor announced that it would be neces.-.orv to make some provision to prevent a deadlock, and suggested either the setting up of the u***a*tl committee."! or the appointment of tSe -Councillors to sign cheques. At tha firrt ordinary meeting of the new Kaiaprni Borough Council letters were read intimating that the Charitable. Aid Board required £32 19s lOd, and the Hospital Board wanted £45 12.. Tlie tender of Mrs Knight (9s 6d per case) for kerosene for street lighting was occeptcd. An application from the clerk for hcrease of salary was considered, and referred to the Finance Committee.. The election of committees was deferred.
