ONE PASSENGER MURDERED BY ANOTHER. A WOMAN'S NARROW ESCAPE. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received January 18th, 11.9 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. Hill, an ex-soldier, shot and killed an elderly farmer named Pearson in a lavatory compartment on a South-Western train near Surbiton, and then shot in the cheek the only other passenger, a widow. Hill rifled Pearson's body, and jumped when the train entered Vauxhall. The widow, who feigned death, gave the alarm, and the murderer was arrested after au exciting chase.
