DUNEDIN, December 3,

The inquest on Edward Edwards was resumed at Kaitangata this morning. Mary Jane Edwards, .deceased's widow, testified that Edwards "was queer the night previous, and threw the bread out of the window. She was awaken.d_.it 3 a.m. and found her throat cut. She awakened the children and went to Seurr's house for assistance. A verdict was returned that the deceased committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor, while of unsound mind. A rider was added: —"Mrs Edwards deserves praise for protecting the children as she did."
