At a meeting of the Cricket Association, a letter was received from the, Canterbury Association, stating that a Canterbury representative team could not play during Christinas week. It was decided to write to Canterbury, suggesting thatr a match should be played on January, 19tlf, *21st, and 22nd. No definite decision was arrived at regarding the Hawke's Bay match, biit Easter was tentatively fixed. A letter .was read from tho Auckland Associction suggesting January 7th Bth, and 9tb as the dates for-'en inteirprovincial match. These dates were considered unsuitable, and it, was decided to approach Auckland with a 5 view of having them altered to December 21st, 22nd, and 24th, cr 22nd, 24th, and 23 th. '
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) WELLINGTON, December 3. In Saturday's Senior -cricljet, the match between Phoenix and Wellington was begun. Phcenix scored 145 in the-ir first innings, and Wellington 10., without the loss of a wicket (Woybourne 58, Richardson 40). In the Old Boys v Midland match, the former made only 62 in the first innings, and the Midlanders 169. In the Junior Cup match, Midland and Old Boys, Bourko and Wey bourne for the Midland established a local record, putting on 222 for the third wicket, and the afternoon's score was 4SB for eight wickets. AUCKLAND, December 3. v The second round of the sonior matches began on Saturday on fast wicket.. Playing for Auckland against North Shore, McCormick, a last year's junior, scored 152 not out, and R.
