AN UNFORTUNATE EXPEDITION.
(Received December 3rd, 9.11 a.m.) ' HONG KONG, December 2. The Kalgan expedition has experienced a reverse. A party of Germans were cut off and compelled to abandon their dead and wounded.
A German named Count Yorck, who was commanding at Kalgan, has been suffocated by the fumes from coal pans while sleeping in a Chinese hut.
